A field trip to Koslanda (average 2300 feet above sea level) of Badulla district, Uva province was organized for the course unit ZOL406M2: Herpetology.
A total of 24 members totaling 17 4M students and 05 staff members participated in this trip. This field trip included an “Elephant Awareness programme and its mitigation measures also to the people and school children of a tea estate located at Makaldeniya (about 2400 feet asl).
This duration of this trip was three days from 27th March (Thursday), to 29th March 2025 (Saturday). In addition to the financial support by our University, Professor Jodi Miller – sloth bear specialist, has provided residence and cost of fuel expenses of this travel (up and down).
